Recently, China groundwater information support system begins to run on the web site of www.cgs.gov.cn and www.cigem.gov.cn .. Users can access the real-time information of (1) China groundwater resource,(2) groundwater environment, (3) groundwater condition and (4) 930 important groundwater monitoring places in northern area.
The system was designed to provide China 's groundwater dynamic information. It enables users to know the status of the distribution, exploitation, replenishment, latent capacity and quality of China' groundwater; to know the trends of China groundwater environment, e.g. land subsidence, karst collapse, seawater encroachment, water pollution, etc; to know basic situations, e.g. distribution of China groundwater monitoring places, the depth of monitoring hole, water level, water quality and water temperature, etc; to know the groundwater watch conditions in major cities and areas for recent 10 years, and to know the environmental geological problems caused by groundwater exploitation.
