To promote moon-exploring scientific research, the Ministry of Land and Resources recently launched out moon- exploring scientific pre-research plan and set up moon- exploring scientist group.

　　Zhao Wenjin, an academician in Chinese Academy of Engineering has been appointed as the leader of the moon-exploring scientist group, and the members of the group include experts in geophysics, geochemistry, geology, petrology, aerial and space remote-sensing science. At present, pre-research plan is still in its early stage, with main tasks of closely following up the development of moon-exploring scientific research in china and foreign countries, and discovering scientific problems to bring forward objective of the Ministry's participation in moon-exploring scientific research. Related experts think that the Ministry of Land and Resources is provided with the strength in all aspects of geophysics and aerial remote-sensing subjects, gravity and magnetic application, imagery-spectrum instruments and data interpretation, that can give the support in the moon-prospecting scientific research.

　　The first phase of the moon-exploring has been started-up and at present National Commission of Science Technology and Industry is organizing argumentation work of the second and the third phase of the project.

　　After preliminary argumentation, the moon-exploring objective focuses on topographic, geological and physic mapping of the moon face, prospecting of moon resources, prospecting of shallow layers and inner structure of the moon, research on the relation between the earth and the moon.
