Development and Research
Center of CGS is a comprehensive research  institution,
mainly carrying out strategic and multi-disciplinal research work
of national geological survey. Ti is in charge of the management
of the national geological survey information, organizes the construction
of the national geological basic databases and maintains them, develops
geological application software, complies and publishes "Geology
in China" and "Geological Bulletin of China". Ti
not only provides technical administrative support for CGS but is
also publish services of geological survey information for society.
Since 1999, the Center has completed more than 10 research
projects dealing with national and regional mineral resources
assessment and related planning, development strategy research
of exploration techniques, finished digital geological map of
China at a scale of 1:500000, and developed regional geological
computer-aided mapping systems ect..
